Calling All Artist Citizens
Arts Advocacy for Everyone
Learn how to communicate effectively with elected officials and, for those in nonprofit organizations, how to lobby legally. This video also includes a Federal legislative update on arts appropriations and bills, and discusses how everyone can get involved in ongoing campaigns.
Nina Ozlu Tunceli, Chief Counsel of Government and Public Affairs at Americans for the Arts, presents a wide range of arts advocacy topics—including how members of the chamber music field can take part in our democracy, respond to calls to action, and have our voice heard. The presentation will include a Federal legislative update on arts appropriations and bills, describe how nonprofit organizations can legally lobby, and explain how arts advocacy is tracked by every state. Attendees will learn how to effectively communicate with elected officials to stress the arts’ impact in the communities they serve.
