2008 New Jazz Works grantee Noah Baerman is a jazz pianist/composer with 11 acclaimed albums under his name and several more as co-leader of cooperative ensembles including Trio 149, Envisage Collective, and Playdate, earning praise from Downbeat, Jazz Times, Jazziz, NYC Jazz Record, Village Voice, and WNPR’s Jazz Corridor. He is the author of 10 instructional books published by Alfred Publishing Company and teaches at several institutions including Wesleyan University, where he directs the Jazz Ensemble. In 2012 he founded Resonant Motion, a non-profit dedicated to the intersection of music and positive change, and is a recipient of the Middletown, CT Arts Advocacy award, with July 10, 2020 declared “Noah Baerman Day” in the city.
