Ben Dorfan

Ben Dorfan is a pianist and composer exploring models of human creativity and making broader connections to social and historical issues. His recent work includes collaborations with gayageum master performer Ms. MOON, Yang-sook, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and pianist Eric Huebner.

He has performed with the Carmel Bach Festival Chorale under the direction of Andrew Megill, the Santa Cruz Symphony with Daniel Stewart, and NewMusicWorks with Phil Collins.

Ben serves as Vice President of the MTAC Santa Cruz County Branch and Musician Liaison for Santa Cruz Chamber Players. He is pursuing a D.M.A. in Music Composition at UC Santa Cruz, where he studies with Hi Kyung Kim, Ben Leeds Carson, Amy Beal, and Matthew Schumaker.
