Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity / Banff International String Quartet Competition and Festival

Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity celebrates the art of chamber music while providing career support for emerging string quartets since its inception in 1983. The outstanding success of the first competition inspired organizers to make this a triennial event which is set in the inspiring landscape of the Canadian Rockies.

In 2017, BISQFest commenced in non-competition years as a weekend of curated concerts showcasing laureates in unique collaborations with other world-renowned musicians.

A member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions, BISQC is widely recognized among the top events of its kind.
