Blue Violet Duo

Blue Violet Duo “excel at both extremes, from the nuanced and restrained to the incandescent and extravagant”(Stringendo). Formed in 2013, the Chicago based duo was born of a friendship and musical kinship and enjoyed immediate recognition. Promoting music of today’s composers is an important part of their mission, and they have premiered works written for the duo by Amos Gillespie, Don Meyer, John Nichols III, and many other works by today’s composers. They have released two critically-acclaimed recordings: American Souvenirs (2018) and Strike, Strum and Stride (2023). The duo enjoy bringing to light lesser-known, engaging works to delight audiences everywhere.
