Bob Rodriguez

Pianist Bob Rodriguez is a recipient of CMA’s 2007 New Works: Creation and Presentation grant for his composition “Aftermath”. Regarding his trio Downbeat Magazine describes his music, “The end product is an intriguing trio sound that is largely, unlike anything on the scene”. Cadence Magazine, “What distinguishes Rodriguez from countless other jazz pianists covering the same material is a preference for pulling the songs into new terrain”.
Hot House/Spotlight/Seton Hawkins “Combining a consistently gentle touch with animated right-hand and a clever harmonic sense. Rodriguez is also a remarkable composer whose works are often reminiscent of Bill Evan’s understated grace.
