Hailed as a “consistently sharp and creative” soloist by All About Jazz, Adib Young is a talented saxophonist, composer, and professor currently teaching at the University of Springfield.

A graduate of Furman University and the University of Illinois, Adib has studied saxophone with Matt Olson, Debra Richtmeyer, and Chip McNeill and composition with Jim Pugh, Mark Kilstofte, and Jay Bocook. In his time in academia, Adib has showcased his composition and improvisation style on Olson’s Open Spaces (released by Origin Arts), was named a Presser Scholar, won the Furman Concerto Competition, self-published two transcription books of Baptiste Herbin and Ben Wendel’s solos, and was a teaching assistant for Richtmeyer and McNeill.
