Gilbert Galindo

Gilbert Galindo writes “richly rendered music” (Thought Catalogue) of “undeniable power” (The Kansas City Star) with an intriguing palette of colors. A Tejano upbringing in west Texas combines with a love of modes, blues, and jazz to inform Galindo’s rhapsodic abstract lyricism. Galindo’s experience in New York’s electronic music scene as a DJ and producer also adds a unique depth to his writing. Recent commissions include works for the Chicago Composers Orchestra, the Queer Urban Orchestra, the Dalí Quartet through GFLCAM, Access Contemporary Music, and the Quintet of the Americas. His music is available from American Composers Edition (BMI) and Galindo Musix (BMI) and can be heard on Neuma Records and New Focus Recordings.
