Continuum

Founded in 1966, Continuum has been directed by Cheryl Seltzer and Joel Sachs, and is now joined by cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper.   Continuum is renowned for introducing compelling new composers often discovered on its tours to Central and Eastern Asia (including 7 trips to Mongolia), the Caucasus, Russia, and Ukraine. For 45 years Continuum presented an annual retrospective series in New York City of 20th- and 21st-c. composers and inventive thematic concerts. Domestic touring featured  innovative mini-residencies for colleges and community groups.    Recordings: 11 portrait CDs of American composers on Naxos; TNR, Bridge, New Albion and others. Siemens International Award; four CMA/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Awards.
