Chamber Music Institute/So Cal

Celebrating our 28th summer of music-making, CMIsc presents an annual concert in July of string trios, quartets and quintets performing literature by women composers, Black composers and the standard canon. Our participants are ages 8-88, coached in 4 rehearsals by eminent LA area coaches: violinists Kay Pech, Leslie Ho, and Emily Wu and cellist Esther Back. Players are selected by audition. This summer our July 28 concert in the Nixon Library (Yorba Linda) features movements by Fanny Mendelssohn, Florence Price, Emilie Mayer, Michi Wiancko as well as William Grant Still, Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart.
