Kalí Rodríguez-Peña and Mélange

Mélange was founded in 2015 by Kalí Rodríguez-Peña with the ambition of expanding the language of Latin, and African American music styles. The members of Mélange contribute to the band’s repertoire by composing and performing their original music. This mixture of modern and traditional elements gives Mélange a unique sound, rich in textures. Rodríguez-Peña is joined by saxophonist Kazemde George (Oakland, California), pianist Gabriel Chakarji (Caracas, Venezuela), bassist Raul Reyes (Camagüey, Cuba), drummer Zack O’Farrill (Brooklyn, New York), and percussionist Victor Pablo García (Puerto Rico). Mélange released its first album in March 2022.
