Jim Anderson

Jim is a jazz musician and composer with over 50 years of experience in the study and practice of music education and bass violin. He is an original co-founder of The Cohesion Jazz Ensemble (disbanded in 2018); the group released one CD entitled A Journey’s Quest. Jim began his new jazz ensemble, The Semaj A. Consort, in 2022. Over the years, Jim has played and toured with numerous locally, regionally, and nationally known jazz artists. Former board member of JazzAlive, Inc. Inducted into the Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame in 2019, Jim was named a Top Music Influencer in Cincinnati’s Black Music Walk of Fame in May 2023.
