Akua Dixon, an iconic figure in music, boasts a 40-year career celebrated worldwide. From premiering original jazz compositions at the Village Gate in ’73 to gracing stages at the Kennedy Center and jazz festivals across continents, her artistry knows no bounds. Dixon’s collaborations range from Max Roach to James Brown to Lauryn Hill. Her latest album, “Akua’s Dance,” features her on cello with a rhythm section.
