Called “highly inventive on every level” by the Washington Post, Judith Shatin’s music combines an adventurous approach to timbre with dynamic narrative design and a keen awareness of the sonic landscape of modern life. She composes both acoustic and electroacoustic music; collaboration with performers is one of her favorite aspects of composing. Recent chamber pieces include Kassia (cl, hrp, st. quintet) and Terra Infirma (amp. septet and electronics from the fauna of the Great Lakes).  Her music is available on 30+ albums, with chamber music one of her favorite genres.
