Westwood Wind Quintet

Westwood Wind Quintet was established in 1959 and was actively concertizing and recording until two years ago. The group played over 3000 concerts  and has over 26 CD albums on Crystal Records and Sony. Oboist Peter Christ was the co-founder and played all of those years. There were only two flutists: Gretel Shanley and John Barcellona, who has played the last 40 years. David Atkins, clarinet, was co-founder and played until he retired around 2000. Present clarinetist is William Helmers. Bassoonist is Patricia Nelson, and Horn player was most recently John Cox. All played with the group for many years.
