Pianist and composer Carolina Calvache engages in a global music exchange that blends jazz, classical, and Latin American music. Following her album Sotareño, which earned one of the Best 10 Albums of 2014 by Latin Jazz Network, Calvache unleashes her voice as an orchestrator and songwriter on Vida Profunda, featuring legendary singer Rubén Blades and Sara Serpa, among others. Calvache has written for studio orchestra, big band, and chamber ensembles and collaborated with artists such as Jennifer Wharton’s group Bonegasm, Samuel Torres, Nestor Torres, Claudia Acuña, Antonio Sanchez, and Michael Rodriguez. Calvache holds a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and a DMA in jazz composition from the University of Miami.
