Stephanie Chou is a composer/saxophonist/singer based in NYC. Her music combines classical and Chinese influences with jazz and pop to create an original, bilingual(English/Mandarin) musical world. Her first jazz album, Prime Knot, explored math concepts. Her ballet C for G was commissioned by former ABT principal Susan Jaffe. Her band has performed in Taipei, Beijing, throughout NYC at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, and more. Her album Asymptote uniquely combines erhu with jazz in fresh takes on Chinese classics. Her latest project, Comfort Girl, is a song cycle exploring WWII Asian ‘comfort women’
