Texu Kim (b.1980, he/him) writes music inspired by everyday experiences, music about modern (South) Korea, reflecting its multicultural nature, and music that is humorous yet sophisticated. His music also incorporates and expands elements and systems of Korean folk music.

Texu’s music has been programmed by the New York Phil, LA Phil, San Francisco Opera, National Orchestra of Korea, New York Youth Symphony, Alarm Will Sound, Sejong Soloists, New York Classical Players, Verona Quartet, and more. He served as the Composer-in-Residence of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra (2014-16) and is an associate professor at San Diego State University. He has received honors from the Barlow Prize, Fromm Foundation, and many others.
