The recent compositions of Stratøs (a name that encompasses the artistic endeavors of Eddie Codrington) have netted him the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award for three consecutive years (2019-21), as well as a National Sawdust New Works commission in 2020.

For nearly 50 years, Chamber Music America has connected and supported an evolving chamber music field through professional development services, networking opportunities, grant programs, publications, an annual conference, and more. In 2025 alone, CMA provided a total of $1,261,350 to 338 musicians and 20 presenting organizations in more than 20 states. Since its inception, CMA has supported the creation of more than 580 new compositions in a broad range of styles and musical traditions.

Chicago: Apply to Be a Teaching Artist
CMA is now accepting applications for Sound Journeys and Echoes of the City—two creative engagement initiatives that build connections between professional artists and students at The People’s Music School, a tuition-free music school serving children in the Chicago metropolitan area. These are paid opportunities.
Members of CMA’s Chicago-based constituency who are interested in participating in the projects as teaching artists are encouraged to apply; applications are being accepted through November 20, 2025.

Apply to Perform at CMA's 2026 Conference
Most performances during the conference will take place on Saturday, August 22. CMA Member ensembles are welcome to apply for a 20-minute performance slot, most of which will be held onstage at The Museum of Contemporary Art. Please note: applications cannot be saved and returned to. Please review the application, compile the information, and submit when you are done. (Drafts are not possible.)

Submit a Session Proposal for CMA's 2026 Conference
Conference sessions will take place between 10am and 5pm on August 20, 21, or 22 in The Drake Hotel. Sessions should be no longer than 60 minutes in length.
