CMA Welcomes New Board Chair, Nicholas Csicsko
As a composer, pianist, and institutional investments professional, Csicsko brings a unique perspective to CMA’s leadership

Chamber Music America is pleased to announce that Nicholas Csicsko has been elected as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
Fascinated by the connection between music, economics, and the world, Csicsko brings a unique perspective to CMA’s leadership as well as a longstanding commitment to advancing the chamber music field. After earning a Doctorate of Music in composition from The Juilliard School, he transitioned to the field of institutional investments, managing the endowments for multi-billion-dollar nonprofit organizations. Currently, he serves as Managing Director of Investments for Trinity Wall Street.
Csicsko joined CMA’s Board as an Appointed Member in 2023 and has served on the Executive Committee in the role of Secretary since July 2024. He is also the Chair of the Innovation Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he has taught at Juilliard; lectures and writes about the intersection of music and finance; is the author of Iconic Composers, a book introducing music lovers of all ages to 50 composers from the past millennium; and continues to play the piano.
Csicsko succeeds outgoing Chair Byan Young, bassoonist and co-founding member of the renowned Poulenc Trio, who has served on CMA’s Board of Directors since 2020. “On behalf of the Board and the entire organization, I am profoundly grateful for Bryan’s exemplary leadership and enduring support for CMA’s mission during a period of transformation,” says CEO Kevin Kwan Loucks. “Under his invaluable guidance, the organization navigated challenging financial times post-pandemic and major shifts in traditional operations. As we look ahead, I am excited for Nicholas to continue this legacy during an exciting period of growth. I am confident he’ll bring a unique vision and energy to the role, uniting and galvanizing the Board to meet the needs of our community.”
Says Csicsko: “I am honored to serve as Chair at this pivotal moment and am energized by the opportunity to mobilize the Board and staff around a shared vision for CMA’s future. As we approach the organization’s 50th year, this is the time to both honor CMA’s legacy and chart new directions, and I am eager to help lead that work.”
