OEA’s Outstanding New Artist, the Bel Canto Duo was founded in 2016 by Darci Griffith Gamerl (oboe/English horn) and Grammy-nominated cellist, David Downing. The duo’s music features a variety of selections from original works to arrangements of classical compositions.

In high for commissioned, interdisciplinary music & film, the duo performs for a variety of audiences & venues from museums, art galleries, festivals & concert series.

The pair is currently working on a commission for the Willa Cather Foundation sesquicentennial celebration.
