Emily Rideout enjoys an active performing career on modern and Baroque viola. She was twice winner of the Boston Univ. Bach Competition, and guest violist with Emerson, Muir, and Avalon Quartets. She plays with Boston Baroque, A Far Cry, Handel & Haydn Society, Providence Baroque (RI), Mercury Orch. (TX), and Boston Modern Orch. Project.  She’s a frequent soloist in concertos of Bach, Telemann and Mozart. An avid folk musician, Emily plays fiddle with Three Tall Pines, Fort Point Ramblers, and Folk Baroque. An active teacher / lecturer, she specializes in Baroque topics, pedagogy and Suzuki Method, and teaches chamber music at Harvard Univ.  She holds degrees from Boston Univ., Stony Brook Univ. and Moravian College.
