Gabriel Vicéns Sextet

Acclaimed guitarist, composer, and bandleader Gabriel Vicéns and his remarkable sextet explore original compositions that syncretize modern jazz with the Puerto Rican folkloric styles of bomba and plena. Critics all around the world have hailed the ensemble for its lyricism, complex rhythms, and high level of performance. The band includes some of today’s most accomplished musicians in New York City: Roman Filiú on alto saxophone, Glenn Zaleski on piano, Rick Rosato on bass, E.J. Strickland on drums, and Victor Pablo on percussion. They released their first studio album, “The Way We Are Created” in 2021 on Inner Circle Music which garnered acclaimed reviews in many jazz publications.
