Empowerment for Impact & Growth
Deadline: February 19, 2026, 11:59 ET
Notification: March 2026
Grant Period: April 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027
Empowerment for Impact & Growth is funded by the Doris Duke Foundation.
About the Program
The Empowerment for Impact & Growth program offers support for jazz ensembles seeking to gain professional development and practical tools for self-management and strategy of their ensembles. This program offers financial support for jazz recording projects as well as enrollment in a new 10-week professional-development curriculum, providing both creative and structural resources to increase ensemble longevity and viability.
The extended learning component of the program engages grantees in the CMA Impact Accelerator, a structured curriculum delivered over the first 10 weeks of the grant period. The educational series covers five essential areas: strategic planning, financial literacy, operational management, marketing strategies, and technology skills. Equipping jazz artists with these practical business skills helps support long-term career sustainability beyond immediate project support.
The program will award 10 grants in the amount of $20,000 each.
A component of the Doris Duke Jazz Ensembles Project, Empowerment for Impact, & Growth is funded by the Doris Duke Foundation.
An Organization-level CMA membership is required to apply for this grant. Visit chambermusicamerica.org/become-a-member for more information.
